I can't reproduce it either. Going nuts here, don't let this one hold you back. 
 I will try to run some sql updates to bring my lost blogs back, at this point 
all I can prove is that Roller did in fact corrupt them, I can't document a 
path to reproduce it.

The only thing I can think of is that when it happened my site was running on a 
backup server with only 256Mb RAM, sucking air. I now have 760Mb, virtually no 
memory swapping, faster and more reliable performance. I suppose it is possible 
that MySQL 5 dropped data because Roller timed out waiting for it, or some 
other similar thing.
