once again, this is why you become familliar with the Operating system and THEN run programs on it This is what the permissions on csh should be: ~ ls -la /bin/csh lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4 Aug 31 20:48 /bin/csh -> tcsh* ([EMAIL PROTECTED] 20:21:18): ~ ls -la /bin/tcsh -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 319980 Aug 20 12:00 /bin/tcsh*
Correction, that is what the show up as in (stock) 'Drake 9. Your distro (redhat), though similar to drake may set the permissions differently (though I've never had a problem with using tcsh or csh right out of the box). Dantin, PLEASE read the Linux documentation. Setting permissions is the EASIEST job in the world to do correctly. Go through tdlp.org, read there, go through whatever system documentation you installed (with redhat), become a member of a local LUG (linux users group), subscribe to LINUX mailing lists, enhance your knowledge of Linux itself, THEN (and only then) should you begin doing things such as operating it day to day. If you picked up an RH box set, pour through the manual, or whatever else documentation came with the CD's... This is quite important here, because you have to familliarize yourself with something in order to understand it, and what you should (and shouldn't) be doing on it on a daily basis. ---------------------------------------------------- TJW: Head tech, Dreamless Realms Mud: http://dreamless.wolfstream.net Snippets http://dreamless.wolfstream.net/ Telnet dreamless.wolfstream.net:9275 The OLC Pages http://olc.wolfstream.net ----------------------------------------------------
