Based on rom itself, NOT my methodology, NOT my mud, a helmet is a piece of equipment, NOT a weapon. While your thoughts make sense, the primary usage of a helmet is to protect the head area, as equipment, not as a blunt instrument. According to rom (again), helmets are equipment, not weapons. You can't add weapon flags to 'em, you can't adjust the weapon values as you would a real weapon, hence it's equipment. Now, if you've modified your code and all to do that that's great (wouldn't really take a lot of work), but for most, it's not a limitation of either the mud or methodology, it's the game itself.
