libcurl isn't the end of the world ... I'm interested in knowing how IO ERROR intends to perform RSS feed retrieval once we get an XML parser linked into the system. The existing rss2ctdl utility contains its own fetcher. If IO intends to use libcurl instead, then we will have libcurl. I do think it's a neat idea to explore the possibility of being, at the very least, an OpenID consumer, and possibly an OpenID authentication server as well. I'm not sure where I'd find the time to do the implementation, though ... but if you were willing to pound out the code to do the heavy lifting, I could handle the integration. Question: how does OpenID handle non-web clients? For example, if a user declared that they want to authenticate using OpenID, and then they attempt to login using IMAP, how would that work?
