He's already using the alternative text, really. "Nada" is not a literal translation of "none." cf. "rien" vs. "aucun" since I think you speak French. I'd probably translate "<none>" as "<aucun>" and "<ninguno>" respectively, but that ain't gonna fit. I wonder how much of a problem this will be in some big-word language like German? Looks like "kein" unless it has to be declined in some way (never got far enough to learn how to decline in German, or even make intelligent choices picking a word out of a translation dictionary). Even if "nada" fits, "kein" will surely be too big. There's bound to be yet some other language still where the word is even bigger. > rather too wide. It's a tricky one.
