I agree you would want to use the Cygwin additions. I was just wondering if you could compile it with a flag that excluded them which would then lead to the possibility of sharing the makefile with linux. This is probably too complicated though.

Is there an equivalent of makefile or something that should be checked in for this environment? Or a general makefile for building with MingW.
