Can you be more precise, it may help others to understand.  Does
"blank... no response to command" mean that the command outputs nothing
and the shell prompt appears ready for the next command, or that there's
no output *and* the shell prompt doesn't appear either, not until you
interrupt the program with Ctrl-C.
