I think the policy should be 'there shall be exactly one (1) syntax for math
notation." I don't care whether it's LaTeX or MathML or something else, but pick
one and stick to it. RFCXML is too complicated already.

For people who really really really hate whichever one we pick, there are
mechanical ways to translate one to the other. Build some tools if you care
that much.

I also am not understanding how this is going to work in Legacy Line Printer
Format (sometimes misleadingly called "plain text") unless it's just going to
dump the MathML into the document.
