I couldn't agree more. I have a maturity matrix on my mind. I guess I'll do a sample of it. Maybe that helps find a solution. The core thing is that with a truly modular design like we have in rsyslog nothing is stable or unstable per se. Some components are extremely stable, while others are bleeding edge. As long as you don't use the bleeding edge ones (and they did not touch core features) the last ironed-out alpha devel version is rock solid.
