What I meant was, if you emailed the authors of those modules.
Basically, do you know if they are aware that those modules are now
broken?

Hard to say, the closest we have is popcon [0].

Granted, the popcon numbers for rsyslog-gssapi [1] aren't high, but
you have to take into account that popcon submissions need to be
enabled explicitly. So the actual numbers I'd expect to be higher.
What popcon numbers are interesting for though, is seeing trends and
making comparisons.
E.g. you see that the gssapi module is apparently more installed more
often then the pqsql one ("installed") but used less often ("vote").
This might suggest that people have installed the package, but not
actually used it afterwards.

That said, the gssapi support was enabled after an explicit user request [2].

I can certainly drop the rsyslog-gssapi package again, but if that is
avoidable, I'd rather not do it.
