Obviously people acquainted with the internet prefer discussing
per mail, IRC or other means of literate communication. In my
opinion, nothing can beat the multi-channel real time communication
of a human conversation. And I am convinced -which you can
probably imagine- that a real workshop could give some results.
Nicholas and I, we have planed to provide some computers with
rtl (NMT and RTI) on it. Tomek would like to present something
on "shared memory, using concepts from Linux networking layer in
DAQ" etc.
Moreover, I was thinking on a socialistic concept with industrial
visiters paying for the knowledge they gain ( $100 ) and this money
being used for developers to be supported in coming to Vienna.
Encore, I am waiting for time proposals, and IMHO it would
be of interest to do such a workshop before the Linux Expo
in New York.
