As far as I know NI uses an extra board equipped with a 486/100
with their proprietary real time application, but for sure not
a real time OS on it. Maybe this is a kind of DOS application
as MATLAB/Simulink generates in the real time suite. The code
is generated from a graphical model, then compiled and loaded
onto the board. How data are exchanged, I do not know, but
Labview on the computer itself is not real time.
