As you can see from this message it's |working fine now. I think I got a little confused reading the man page.
It is not stated, i see. Well. The development branch at least opens with "the manual expects this context" regarding v15. It is a bit hard to do, you know, such a large manual with lots of different topics, and then i do not read manuals top-down but search for what i am currently interested in, maximally when i get in contact with a new program i read in full, .. but that thing changes over time. And it is _still_ too large and not concise enough, even on the development branch. I mean, you have to "set" the variable, and that is one of the COMMANDS, and commands have arguments which need to be given in a specific fashion. But i have reordered/tweaked the manual sections "A starter" and "COMMANDS" a bit, so that the argument quoting is mentioned early in both. I have given you credit for that, too, with the mail address you used here, i hope this is ok? |> Wondering, for me this prologue would be too lengthy given that |> there is "editalong" set and $EDITOR pops up at once. I turned off askcc and askbcc - just had these on while I |was getting things set up. Ok. |Thank you very much for all your helpful advice. :-) Sure. A nice Christian Easter i wish.
