Ed,

I must concede that the New York Central's track pans were better then the
PRR. In order to help out the already very busy Mohawk, Niagara, or Hudson
firemen, the tender water scoops were stationary. The Mighty New York
Central raised and lowered the TRACK PANS! Now that sir is true genius if I
ever saw it...

For those who want to see a real PRR track pans, here are a few photos from

the PRR track pans appear to be stationary that could lead to massive
fireman confusion and the previously mentioned smashed and flying tender
water scoops...(:->)
