and he notes -

There was another pan at Forks Creek.

A great find! The four photos at Waterford provide the most detail
especially the ramps and beginning of pan signals. The NYC signal
masts were taller but the lamps seem to be the same. It's interesting
that each of the pan facilities appear to be from the same plan and
looking through the rest of the photos, the coal docks were pretty
much the same too. One possible reason is they were all built at or
around the same time.Makes modeling that line easy - one model
represents them all!

Interesting also is the later pictures showing the pans and lineside
buildings long gone with for the most part, the area returned to
wilderness. One quick way to model the scene would be to put in a
couple of weed grown foundations and maybe a rusted water scoop and
call it the site of former track pan!

FYI in addition to the five pans in Ontario, the MCRR operated four
more in Michigan: Four Mile Lake (Chelsea), Marshall, Lawton and
Avery (between Galien and Three Oaks.

On the Central's mainline, 19 pans were located an average of 40
miles apart (or from scheduled stops such as Albany, Buffalo, Toledo
etc.). Since trains passed at all hours of the day (and night), they
were situated in the boonies to minimize disturbing the locals. I
visited the Tivoli site many years ago and it was a good stretch from
the town.

From Harmon pans were found at: Clinton Point and Tivoli on the
Hudson. Schenectady, Yosts, Rome, Seneca River, Palmyra and
Churchville between Albany and Buffalo.

Between Buffalo and Chicago pans were located at: Wende, Silver Creek
and Westfield in NY. Springfield in Pa. Painsville, Huron and Stryker
in Ohio. Corunna, Ginsmore, Lydick and Chesterton in Indiana.
