I've often stated "It's a good time to be out of HO." If it wasn't
for S, I'd be a lot poorer and have even more stuff stacked up in
boxes than I have now. However, I'm also cursed with the "rubber
gauger" gene and won't hesitate to pick up something that stikes my
fancy in another scale. My Athearn HO Santa Fe CF-7 is just one of
the neatest things around... As is my MTH PRR H10s 2-8-0...

But still, the bungee cord still snaps me back to S. Why? Some may
think it's just to annoy folks on this list, but no. Well, maybe...

Seriously, I have 12'x18' of plywood glacier that I'm happy with and
S scale fits just fine on it. Plus, I have a freelance concept I'm
comfortable with. A good part of it was the nearly right locomotives
becoming available at the right time. As long as I keep the
interchange power to a minimum, the railroad becomes convincing in my
mind even though scenery is lacking.

Now, if S only had some Russian Decapods...

century.
