Umm, that change sure "improved" the looks of the
locomotive. :~{

What's interesting is that they were built starting in
1934, but somehow this problem became so sever as to
require rebuilding in the 1970's, after 30+ years of
service? I guess they didn't have any snow between
1934 and 1970.
