With all due respect, can you produce some financial figures to back up your 
statement about the "financially secure Pennsylvania Railroad." such as their 
dividend records during their last 5 years before the merger.

Folks, once again, let me set you straight on the Penn Central bankruptcy!

The Penn Central merger would have never occurred had our Governor at that 
time, Milton Shapp, who tried everyway within his power to see that the merger 
never come off, as he knew the NYC was in deep financial trouble, and needed 
the [fresh] financially secure Pennsylvania Railroads money.

Some how, they worked out around Governor Shapp, merged, and the rest is 
history! (In several short years!)
