I must explain that I grew up on Allison Hill, in Harrisburg, Pa. The Reading
mainline ran Back and forth from Philadelphia, Reading into their beautiful
Harrisburg downtown station.

Many a day during the summer we would watch all the big steamers come through.

The smoke was so bad, that the ladies put up a protest, and very little
switching was done on Mondays

For me to see the Pennsylvania railroad, I would walk downtown, under the
Market Street railroad bridge and look up at all the magnificent locomotives,
mostly by that time were Diesels. The Pennsy was housed in what we
Harrisburger's call the uptown area and still is to this day.

I could write a book on all my railroad experiences, it would mostly be on
Reading Railroad and the Reading is what I model today in S Scale.

I do remember that a lot of the Pennsylvania Railroad money went into NYC real
Estate and for all practical purposes Mark has defined that.

Nice thing about our computers is that we can simply type in what we want to
know and it "POPS" right up at "Cha!" Try it, it absolutely mind boggling!

Yep, my Reading is now Norfolk Southern and your Pennsy - NYC is now CSX!

You will find several Pennsylvania locomotives on my layout, but basically most
are Reading!

My recovery is taking longer that expected and on top of it I picked up a
"Belly Bug"

Gotta Go,
"S"ee Ya,
Bill
