Nobody knows the answer to these questions yet, for sure... but the revised HO coupler came both as a kit and RTR, so I'm sure the S version will as well.
But for the record... the revised HO "kit" coupler was so well done that it nearly fell together by itself. It was nothing like the original HO and original S that were hard to assemble; it has alignment pins and pockets that pretty-much made it foolproof to assemble.
