Bob....You could be right. My sample size was very small -- one diesel
compared to two steamers. I think Bill Winans has done a more
exhaustive comparison for sure. But, y'know, the same question kind of
lingers regardless of which pulls more. Why is it that two locos (of
any kind) with the same weight and same number of powered wheels have
much different drawbar pull? I suspect the answer might be with
equalizing and/or wheel material. Maybe there are other factors....??
