"S"peaking as an olde tymer, the really olde Lindsay HO diesel drive is what 
Jon Beveridge used for his S diesels.  The kit drive is quite universal since 
the wheelbase is adjustable and it is fully equalized and it is easy to 
assemble with just a few solder joints.  If you ever get lucky and find these 
kit drives at an HO estate sale or flea market, it might be interesting to buy 
it cheap just to see what it can do for you.  Good luck...Ed L.
