My Dad bought several of the LWS boxcar kits, and I have one of the Hoquat GN kits as well.
The two types of ends were a rather flat version of the Improved Dreadnought End and what I took to be an attempt at a USRA type Murphy ribbed end, but with a 3/3/3 rib pattern rather than the correct 5/5/5 ribs. While the latter end might be a bit similar to an early welded PS boxcar (PS-0), I think the ribs are way to thin, as well as falling short of the edges of the end (the PS ribs wrap at around the edge). I also suspect the "PS-0" had two panels rather than three. That said, it is no worse for the "PS-0" than it is for the USRA Murphy! Pieter E.
