I have the trucks, the problem is getting the frame milled out enough without
weakening it, it is one of those projects I have not been able to do anything
on because of the limited use of my right side from the stroke 2 years ago. DJE

Probably because the frames are different lengths; SHS EMD trucks and Baldwin
trucks should be the same, as it is the standard AAR switcher truck (also Alco
S-3 and S-4 and Lima switchers).
But until the Chinese situation is straightened out, I understand Jim King
took all of the extra SHS trucks for his Fairbanks Morse kit (and still came up
short).

purchasing a shell for the S-12 from AM and the powered frame from S-Helper.
Someone more knowledgeable than I informed me that such an approach will not
work. The reason it will not work I have long since forgotten. I thought that
would be an easy fix, apparently a little too easy.

necessary? How did you do it; any photos? DJE
