Yeah those are the emotional factors which can be very complex but the
physical advantages are pretty easy to see.
Large scale modelers want something big enough to detail and see well close
up and S provides that while being easier to hold and store than O scale. It's
much easier to find room for an S layout than and O layout.
Small scale modelers want something that can fit into a limited space and TT
does that quite well while being much more user friendly than N when handling
it, one can put pretty much the same details on a TT scale car as on an HO
scale car but still build a layout in slightly more space than N requires.
Of course different rooms are best suited for each one of the various scales
depending on the size,shape, era, and theme desired but S and TT hit the sweet
spot more times than the others....dave
