The reality is otherwise and it is the real world in which S Scale (and yes,
even Flyer) exists.
All of which addresses the 1:64 dollar question. How do you get S into the
local hobby shops? I sure don't know... These days, the hobby shop owner must
be even more discrimating than just a few years ago when stocking the store.
Plus, AM and SHS are currently direct sales only with limited stock. (Unless I
missed the memo.)
Even when AM, SHS and SSA were in full production, there were very few places
where you could walk in and comparison shop. And until they can get up and
running again, well...
The Internet has helped to some degree I'm sure, but one almost has to be
Indiana Jones to find S on the street.
