I think the main reason is that Ron probably doesn't want to make one that
meets the SCALE guys' requirements. He would have to make many more of them
than a brass importer needs to make in order to pay for his time.
Considering he already has a "similar" model, I don't see him getting crazy
enough to make a whole new set of molds – he probably couldn't even be able to
use any of his other running gear components.
The price tag would probably be closer to $2500 for a brass model, but for that
you get accuracy and EXCELLENT running qualities, not to mention something that
can stand close scrutiny.
