Hi all --

That is one reason I have been using the same basic track plan since I was a 
young teen – a loop with a branch line.    Of course, the scale has changed 
and the size (from 5 x 6 (HO) to 4 x 6 (N) to 11 x 13 (HO then S) to 20 x 20 
(S)) and  complexity of the layouts have changed over the years, but it is 
still the same basic concept.  You can have your cake and eat it too...

I plan a removable section at the door way to allow continuous running when 
wanted for breaking in locos or just letting long trains run some miles 
between layout stations . By making it removable it gives the option of 
point to point or loop operations...DaveBranum
