The only concern  I would have  with #5s is the greater tendency to vertically 
separate at sags and crests because of the smaller heads, if the heights are 
not fully adjusted. My bad, I do have cars needing attention to this problem.

your closing statement, Bob. Like you I have no problems with either the 
performance OR price of "off the shelf" Kadee #5 and the slightly larger
