I regularly run 4-car passenger trains, consisting of a baggage/RPO,
baggage/mail storage and two coaches, usually behind an FP-7, on 39"
(approximately) curves. None of my passenger equipment, however, exceeds 65' in
length. I have also designed a close coupling system to eliminate binding,
buckling, and derailments when backing. This is important, in that trains must
back around a wye at Mooar Yard in order to turn and leave town.
