while the idea of having a scale y3, or even a challenger is
appealing, the reality is, is that
most scalers, for one reason or another can not afford/or wish to
purchase one of these
engines, and lionel is aware of this, why do you think they are still
in the flyonel market?
and mth also recognizes the reality of the scale market, so until the
scale market can
support its own dreams, DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH, or waste I/O'S

Yes, Pennsy had 6. They were classified HH1 and lasted to at least
1950, meaning I could use one. :)
I couldn't find out about it on Lionel site (which is poor IMO) so
I stopped by the local hobby store and they had an 2012 AF catalog.
The Y3 was on the first two pages with MSRP of $999.
I like the idea of pestering Lionel about scale wheels. On the back
of the catalog, their contact info is 586-949-4100 or talktous AT
lionel.com
I plan dropping them a note.
