Paul; You are so correct and in H0 they even run code 72 on the same track. BUT; The reason for Fine and Extra fine standards is appearance and reliability with smaller code wheels. Otherwise, why did we ever change from the course standards that specked code 124 wheels??? My 2ยข TCC:}
