Your problem is not the axles but the wheels THEY ARE SHOT replace them &
quarter all the wheels & all should be OK

Subject: [S-Trains] AF Steam Loco Axles
I have a 332AC whose rear drivers slip on the axle,
which, of course, is the one with the gear. So it
sits still and won't move (like a smoke in the boiler
version of a smoke in tender steamer in neutral).
I imagine the splines on the axle and/or the drivers
are worn smooth. Super glue didn't work. I have
plenty of axles from previously junked steamers,
especially Atlantics. My easiest source of an axle
would be a set of drivers from an engine like a
Franklin where the bottom of the frame unscrews and
drivers come out together. Are all the geared axles
on AF S gauge steam locos the same? I know that I've
seen plastic and metal drivers on the same steam loco,
so I would guess they are.
Has anybody else had this problem? I've had loose
wheels and loose tires before, but this is the first
time I've seem a steam loco just quit moving like this!
