Hi Scott: I wouldn't jump on the vibrotor motor wagon if i were you. We have run several of these on our modular layouts at shows and the little feet on the rubber disk do not hold up well under continuous operation. They either bend over or wear down. Seems to me an airport beacon ought to be able to run continuously. Otherwise you're planes will NEVER find the airport.
Why not use the ACG and install a low RPM motor under the base with a rod up to the beacon to make it go round. or modify the top to install a little motor up there if you can find one small enough. These will probably be more reliable.
