Chris,since you are "the man" at collecting from members on the list, 
IMHO you were the obvious choice to collect the opening bid on 
the "General" plate. I am well aware of what it would take and was 
NOT suggesting you attempt the feat. As it was, no bid was placed. I 
wonder if it will show up again. Was a great topic for discussion tho 
and even brought out into the open a letter from the curator, John B.
