There is a modelers type paint Testors silver 1246 (if memory serves) that
was one I used that was a very good match. We went through this on this
list about a year ago so a check if the archives may be helpful for other
ideas.

Hi,

Out of curiosity one day I dabbed a little Rustoleum metallic silver paint
on an Erector Set part and held it up to a diesel loco truck sideframe. It
looked like a pretty good match. I'd be afraid to try a touch-up with it,
tho' as I don't know if it would hurt the original surface. If you do think
maybe you've found a match, try it somewhere that won't show first before
you make worse that which you are trying to make look better. Some paints
attack bare plastic or other paints. IMHO, unless the piece is very bad,
I'd leave it alone.

Good luck and be careful,
Tim Brown

I was wondering if anyone had ever touched up some of the original Flyer
satin silver cars, and was hoping to get zeroed in on a paint brand/type
  that was a good match.

I was also wondering how close the LTI/Flyer satin silver is to a match.
