This is always a good idea for valuable packages, but it does take time sometimes. Since "Final release is scheduled for October 15, 2010." of R 2.12.0, maybe we should open a ticket for it now? > The R package is a bit of a mess - and that is being polite! > > http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/8274 > > was added to clean this up. By the way, can you update the description on this to show that (thanks to you!) R *does* now build on Solaris? I'm also not clear on the current status of #7865 - not that I would have the expertise to fix it, but it is nice to know. > I know others are working on sorting some issues out with R, most > notably the fact the R .spkg includes another .spkg file, which gets > built after R. > > I would suggest you take a close look on trac, see what others are > doing with it (I know Leif is doing things), and upgrade the source > based on changes by Leif and others. Although if the upgrade is quite straightforward otherwise, it wouldn't hurt to leave the rpy spkg issue to later. - kcrisman -- To post to this group, send an email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to sage-devel+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URL: http://www.sagemath.org
