I'm not aware of any way to get Sphinx to do what you're describing.
Essentially you want something similar to how the Mathematica
documentation is organized.

This page [1] of the Python documentation comes close to what you're
describing. But each method/function is yet to be in its own page.
Note that at [1] the table listing all the functions is manually
maintained and not autogenerated by Sphinx.
