Hi Simon, I bet you that there are more crackpots in physics than in math ;-) But seriously, I've deleted tons of emails about "the theory of everything" without it dragging me down in the least. This is why we (both science as a whole and Sage in particular) have peer review.
In any case, crackpots are just the science analog of the mailing list troll. They are not interested in feedback through the referee process.
