What
version/size/date of the EXE and the OCX?
Also
did you use the hostname or the IP address?
Dirk.

One important remark, is that the /host parameter should be the IP address of the host and not the name of the host.

New setup can be downloaded from: <http://www.woodstone.nu/soft/beta/setup_chkudp.exe>http://www.woodstone.nu/soft/beta/setup_chkudp.exe

Just did some tests and it can't work as such on Win95 or Win98.<<<<
The reason lays in the fact that the check uses a custom ocx (networkcheck.ocx) and this ocx depends on mfc42U.dll. MFC42U.DLL is a UniCode dll and this doesn't work on Win95 or Win98.
I just email the author of the ocx to see if the ocx realy needs the unicode stuff, and if this can be changed....I'll keep you informed on it...
Dirk.

Try this. This is where the default install puts chkudp.exe
c:\program files\woodstone\udp\chkudp.exe /host=MyServer /port=67 /timeout=25
This is one I use. The object has a timeout of 30 seconds.
Port 67 is DHCP
