Is there any other way for me to troubleshoot this?

-999 shows a problem with the commandlines or the parameters.
Are you sure it's in that directory?
dirk.

Actually i had a typo before. the Paths are as follows:
C:\Program Files\Salive\smtp2pop3
C:\Program Files\Salive\smtp2pop3\vlade.ini
Bumped it up to 100 but no dice. In the Server Tab, Server name IP field,
should I have the address of the pop3 server or smtp server?
I tried both ways and it gives me the error very quickly.
Here is the log file entry:
uesday, October 29, 2002 4:56:13 PM External check of :C:\Program
Files\Salive\smtp2pop3 ini="C:\Program Files\Salive\smtp2pop3\vlade.ini"
section=local
Tuesday, October 29, 2002 4:56:13 PM -999
Tuesday, October 29, 2002 4:56:13 PM DoExternalCheck
Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

I suppose the INI file is in the same directory as the EXE?
Then it should be:
C:\Program Files\Salive\external\smtp2pop3 ini="C:\Program
Files\Salive\external\vlade.ini" section=local
Also make sure the timeout of the entry is at least 100 (since that's the
number you use within the INI file)
dirk.

I would like to use this external check but am not sure exactly how to. The
syntax and settings are throwing me off. I have created a file called
vlade.ini and it looks with the following:
[local]
POP3User=popmail
POP3Password=******
POP3Server=mail.xxxxxxxx.net
POP3Port=110
SMTPServer=smtp.xxxxxxx.com
SMTPPort=25
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
maxtimeout=100
nrofchecks=3
Now when I create the check what do I put under the server tab? The pop3
server address or the smtp address. I am planning on invoking the external
check as follows:
C:\Program Files\Salive\external\smtp2pop3 ini=vlade.ini section=local
is this corrrect?
Anyone have an example posted somewhere?
