The error in the logfile means it can't find the EXE file you're refering too.   As for the timeout's you're not 100% correct.  For Servers Alive the only timeout that it knows is the one defined within Servers Alive.  If an external check uses a timeout too (like SMTP2POP3), then make sure the one used for the external check (within the parameters of the external check) is lower then the one defined within Servers Alive.
