dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Molling, Thad Sent: Wed Nov 20 4:14 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help There are 3 places where I saw % entries. The first one was set to %c so I left it. The second one was set to %p so I changed it to %c. The third one appears to be for paging. -----Original Message----- From: Dirk Bulinckx [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 8:55 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help what part of the hostfile did you change? dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Molling, Thad Sent: Wed Nov 20 3:51 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help The alternate mail isn't enabled in the setup. However, I did change the host file manually so that both have %c but the result is the same. The body of the message continues to change as I change the subject to %u or %p or any of the other variables. It's just that the subject is not changing. -----Original Message----- From: Dirk Bulinckx [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 8:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help looking at the content of the file you send me, they have the exact same settings for the primary mail server's subject (being %c is %s) For the alternate they have %p is %s dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Molling, Thad Sent: Wed Nov 20 3:36 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help We are not using an alternate mail server. -----Original Message----- From: Dirk Bulinckx [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 8:31 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help could it be that you comparing a mail generate for MSG015 via the primary mail server and for MSG017 via the alternate mail server? dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Molling, Thad Sent: Wed Nov 20 3:27 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [SA-list] Subject line Help They look the same. For example, if I am checking a NT service and I am reporting on %c is %s it only says that my server is down instead of saying "NT Service blah blah on Server Name is down". Then in the body of the message it says what specifically is down and thats normal. When we originally set this up with version 2 it reported just fine in the subject line. In fact, existing entries from our version 2 installation are still reporting ok but new entries do not even though they are set up exactly the same way. Any help would be appreciated.
