Are you sure to use SNMPv1?

If you look at an SNMPv1 trap it has the following "fields":
        Enterprise (sender OID)
        Agent IP address (sender IP)

(the data part is an SNMP sequence):
                OID
                Value

In SNMPv2 you will NOT see the enterprise and agentIP.

So must I understand from this that HPOV is not looking at the objectID but
at the OID of the sender instead?
That doesn't sound right to me. The sender OID is an OID that just has to
show who is sending not what is exactly send.

Dirk,

The down event Object ID is set to 1.3.6.1.4.1.10984.0.1 with object value
%p is %s [%e] and the Up event Object ID to 1.3.6.1.4.1.10984.0.2 with
object value %p is %s. Both alarms produce a Major alarm and HPOV indicates
that the "specific trap" value is 0 in both cases.

Steve
