It may be beneficial to check each interface. Not sure what kind of equipment you have but with Cisco even a banded T1 has two interfaces. You can check the state of both interfaces (up or down). We do monitor our interfaces this way. We don't have any banded T1s but it works like a charm. Jason Passow Mississippi Welders Supply [EMAIL PROTECTED] ph: (507) 494-5178 fax: (507) 454-8104

I already have checks to ensure that the WAN link is up, just looking for something to check how much bandwidth we have. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:salive@woodstone.nu (mailto:salive@woodstone.nu)] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) Sent: Monday, January 22, 2007 3:21 AM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: Re: [SA-list] Wan Connection Rick, We use SNMP checks extensively within SA to monitor our entire European WAN. What exactly is it that you are trying to monitor? Is it simply whether each WAN line is up or down, or are you trying to record bandwidth or errors or something like that? We’ve been having problems with our banded T1s and not getting the level of service that our provider has promised. The only way I know how to do this is use one of the speed tests on the web. I’d like to monitor it on a consistent basis if at all possible. Any suggestions? Rick Rick Fogarty Golfnet Inc.
