Unfortunately yes. Couldn't you determine the issue from the windbg? I've checked with HP whether I'm running the latest version of the application and it's the latest one.

Are all counters from "HP EVA Storage Array" failing? I tried that option to unregister those counters and then re-register them but no luck. Salive is still giving me the error. For this case I even tried to install salive on the particular system. Understands that if you are getting counters via remote registry then it won't help to install it locally. Any other hint? I don't understand that salive is able to locate the counter through wizard but the test itself fails to enumerate it ... I know from one customer that he was able to solve that by forcing the re-creating of this index (or by remove some of the counters), unfortunatly I didn't take notes of that (he did point me to a KB article about it, so it has to be somewere in the MS KB, I know that's probably not very usefull as the MS KB has a huge number of articles) Dirk Bulinckx. -----Original Message----- From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:sal...@woodstone.nu] On Behalf Of Petr Bohac Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2008 2:10 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] Perfmon check: element not found Hi Dirk, I've encountered an interesting issue on one of my servers. I want to monitor HP EVA storage perf counters (i.e. non standard windows OS counters) but when salive starts monitoring it it tells me "Element not found" (error 1168). --- log --- Saturday, December 20, 2008 4:52:40 PM ssan01 Perfmon (HP EVA Storage Array,Total host KB/s,NAWRAS_EVA2) gave errorElement not found. ( 1168) Saturday, December 20, 2008 4:52:40 PM PERFMON took 15 ms(1) --- What could be the problem? I don't have problem with the standard perfmon app and even salive is able to locate specific HP EVA counter(s) when editing a check and save it. The standard OS counters (Processor, Memory etc.) work fine though. Problem is not credentials. Thank you, Petr Bohac IT Sr.System Administrator Nawras P.O.
