We've run into a very similar issue on more than one of our Satchmo
sites.  For some reason that we haven't been able to figure out,
memcached stops working.  That causes e-commerce to stop working.  We
restart memcached and then restart the server and then everything's
fine again.

But - why does this happen in the first place?  Our host is
Webfaction; they confirmed in the most recent case that they did not
make any changes to the server in the 48 hour window prior to the
memcached failure.

Anyone have any ideas as to how we can come up with a bulletproof
solution?
