I think there are a few things at play with this, i can tell you a
number of reasons i don't go to saturday house much anymore:

1) there are other interesting things happening on the weekend, this
weekend there was green festival, last weekend there was veg fest, next
weekend there is presentation camp

2) no windows: its fine int he winter, or when it is raining, but not
having any windows, nor any outdoor space is kind of rough for someone
(like me) that spends 40 to 60 hours at desk inside during the week
(with a window).

3) too geeky: i geek out all day in front of my computer. My
experiences at the staturday houses i have been to over the last 6
months have been "bunch of geeks sitting in front of their computers,
having sporadic conversations about interesting things, and then going
back to what they were doing. IN the earlier days of saturday house, i
did a lot of geeking on my computer, but now i would rather do other
things, and the laptop quotient always feels really high. It feels alot
more like coworking than anything else.

4) the most fun saturday house i attended: Box Kite making at gasworks.

What would get me out to saturday house:
 * more crafts including novice hardware hacking
 * anything food / organic / gardening related
 * transition towns stuff

I know, i know, if that is what i want to see, i should help organize
it. And maybe i will as time allows.
