"ITEM (em se prononce me) n. m. XXe sicle. Emploi substantiv d'item I, par
l'intermdiaire de l'anglais o ce mot signifie numro, article . lment
que l'on peut isoler dans un ensemble." (dictionnaire de l'Acadmie Franaise)
I didn't know it was a correct French word.

It looks weird to reject translations for untranslated strings... but that's
your project anyway (I worked on this translation because I saw untranslated
strings while creating my account). I would suggest not to i18n-ize them if you
don't expect a translation.

But apart from that, all your corrections seems good to me (removal of useless
"-", uncapitalization of some letters not at the beginning of phrases, etc...)

Hello,
I cannot apply the patch as it is right now. Many changes are interesting an
appreciated. However some of them are questionable.
For instance, we are not prepared to rename "item" to "lment". I think item
is a latin word and considering its importance in Savane, it is best to keep a
word more or less universal. By the way, I think item is perfectly accepted in
academic French.
More generally, when what could appear as a mistake seems to be repeated over
and over, it is best to send a mail to savane-dev first to get some input.
There are also some minor things that cannot really be translated (almost
internal stuff, stuff only shown to admin that take a very very specific sense,
impossible to translated without strong knowledge of the context, like "CVS
Attic"). In the case of the french translation, you can consider that almost
98% of untranslated strings are in this state because no acceptable translation
could be produce.
In other words, I would be glad if it was possible for you to resubmit your
patch minus the s/item/lment, minus the addition of strings that were not
already translated. It would take me too much time right now to discriminate
string per string which one is okey and which one is not.
But apart from that, all your corrections seems good to me (removal of useless
"-", uncapitalization of some letters not at the beginning of phrases, etc...)
