Update of sr #572 (project savane):

Follow-up Comment #1:
Hello,
a) I'm not sure I got your question right. In the database, each group and
user got a full name (more or less free text), a so-called unix name (short
and uncapitalized), an id (number).
The full name is for cosmetics. There's both an id and a unix name, that have
more or less the same purpose. The id exists mainly because it's easier for
the database to index data with numbers auto incremented. The unix name is
easier to remember (for a human) and is used when real unix accounts are
given on a box (for instance for cvs access through ssh).
b) There's no way to auto-approve projects but it could be done by changing a
few lines of code. The administrative project (the first project created) is,
for example, automatically approved.
c) All the scripts that comes with Savane are prefixed sv_. In /var/log,
there are sv_*.log files that are logs of the backend scripts. The most
important is probably /var/log/sv_database2system.log
Does it answer your questions?
